Tidier malmaison
Arcadian International is to buy the Edinburgh Malmaison from Forth Ports for £4.9m. The deal helps tidy up the Malmaison portfolio in anticipation of the expected takeover of Arcadian later this month by US company Patriot American Hospitality.
Riverside sold
Penelope Thornton has bought the 15-bedroom Riverside Country House Hotel, Ashford-in-the-Water, Derbyshire, for £1.1m through agent FPD Savills from former proprietor Sue Taylor and her husband Roger.
Allied contract
Contract caterer Nelson Hind has won a contract with Allied Distillers for three sites, two in Glasgow and one in Dumbarton. The contract serves 400 people and is worth £389,949 in annual turnover.
Nando's numbers
Nando's, the Portuguese restaurant chain, has bought three sites in London, taking their total number of restaurants to nine. The new sites are in Edgware, Harrow and Camberwell.
Chalk one up
Steven McGregor, formerly general manager of Slaley Hall, Northumberland, has bought the 26-bedroom Chalk Lane Hotel, Epsom, Surrey, for £1.75m through a company formed by him, McGregor Hotels.
Marston deal
The 12-bedroom Marston Lodge, Minehead, Devon, has been sold to Les and Patricia Rutter by Valerie Silburn and Frank Allen. The asking price was £249,000 through agent Robert Barry.
