Underage drinkers buying fake ID cards over the internet

Underage drinkers are reportedly beating pub and club alcohol bans by buying fake ID cards over the internet for just £10.

The suppliers of the cards are exploiting a loophole in the law which means that they are not illegal because they do not copy the logos of official ID cards, reports The Sunday Mirror.

But BII, the drinks industry watchdog body, said: "They break every moral code - it is cynical exploitation of children."

The drinks industry says pubs and clubs should only accept photo driving licences, passports and the new Home Office-backed Pass proof-of-age ID card.
