Unison takes swipe at BET
BET Catering Services and public sector workers' union Unison have started the school year on a sour note with Unison claiming the company is refusing to talk to it about its plans for its school meals contracts.
"Nationally, the company has broken off all communication with Unison, leaving 3,000 union members in the dark about their futures," said a Unison statement.
But Jacqui Ford, BET's human resources director, said she was in constant negotiations with Unison at a local level. "This statement is untrue and misguided because I have talks with local union representatives on a weekly basis all over the country," she said.
