Where to eat
London is one of the restaurant capitals of the world. There are thousands of eateries, ranging from Afghan to Zanzibarian. OK, maybe not Zanzabarian, but we were stuck for a ‘Z'.

Online restaurant guides
There are thousands of restaurant guides on the Web. Here are a few of the better ones:
Evening Standard Restaurant Guide
A good site with lots of reviews to help you choose
AA restaurant guide
The AA publishes its searchable restaurant guide online.
5pm.co.uk
A pretty comprehensive listing with discounts for early evening bookings
The Earl of Bradford's London Restaurant Guide Lord Bradford runs his own good restaurant site, including reviews he has written himself. If you're wondering why Porter's Restaurant in Covent Garden features so prominantly, it's because he owns it.
Direct booking sites
There are also a lot of sites where you can book your table direct. Bear in mind that the restaurants have paid to go on, so there's no such thing as a negative review.
