The influence America has on British palates has been sensational from McDonald's hamburger chains, coffee boutiques to the bagel. Different styles of cuisine has also evolved such as Tex-Mex, which is increasingly popular.

Buffets

CFG: New York Canapés include Alaskan Caviar en Croute, White Cheddar Cheese Swan, Caribbean Style Prawn Tartlet, Provolone Cheese on Toasted shell, Cream Cheese with Fruit Compote and Nova Salmon Rosette. All you have to do is thaw and serve.

New York Appetizers include Spinach Pizza, Wild Mushroom Pouch, Artichoke Filo Pastry and Tomato and Pinenut Tartlet, which need reheating before serving.

Burgers

Goldstar Meats: The Big Al's flame cooked range has been specially prepared so the products can be heated in the microwave.

Flame Cooked Premium Beefburger has authentic chargrill lines to enhance its appearance.

Flame Cooked Chicken steak is made from pieces of chicken and can be quickly reheated in the microwave.

Flame Cooked BBQ Pork Ribsteak can be multi-cooked either fried, oven baked or grilled or microwaved.

Also from Big Al's are Express Hot ‘n Crispy Baguettes with a range of fillings including All Day Breakfast, Ham and Cheese, Spicy Chicken and Steak and Onion. These can be microwaved from frozen in minutes.

Main meals

Brake Bros offers a vast section of American-style meals: Shrimp and Santa Fe Chillies consists of half a red pepper filled with garlic butter, cream cheese and topped with a whole prawn, coated with a herb seasoned breadcrumb.

Other items include Southern Fried Turkey Nuggets, Individual Barbecue Pork Ribs, Texas Beef Rib Steak, Swordfish Steaks and for dessert, Mississippi Mud Pie, Pecan Pie and Los Angeles Pre-cut Chocolate Chip Cheesecake.

Tex-Mex

Brake Bros: Choose from a whole host of items from Nachos; Enchiladas; Fajitas; Burritos and Chimichangas; Quesadillas and Cinnamon Chips.

Padley's: Mexican Style Chicken Fajita Kit contains 20 servings (2 Fajitas per serving) - fully cooked Fajita flavour chicken, spicy salsa, prepared mixed vegetables, soft tortillas and instructions on how to make the dish.

Bagels

Hot on the heels of American coffee culture comes the bagel with outlets like Oi! Bagel opening in London's Marylebone Station. Brake Bros offers a new five inch diameter Plain or Onion Bagel, which can be thawed and served. The Onion Bagel is suitable for savoury fillings, while the Plain can carry sweet or savoury. Both are suitable for vegetarians.

Packed in 48s, each bagel costs 29p each (£13.92 per pack).

Bagel Nash: 24 different flavoured bagels from cheese and jalapeno or sundried tomato and black olives to chocolate chip or blueberry.

Buns and baps

Eurobuns offers American style frozen, ready-baked rolls, buns and baps. The thaw and serve products are pre-cut and ready to fill, so sandwiches and burgers can be served in minutes.

The rolls and buns have been made using the American style sponge and dough fermentation process which produces a softer product, with an extended shelf life of six days after defrosting.

Subs

Gibsons' sub rolls offer four fillings in white sub rolls: egg mayonnaise and tomato; egg mayonnaise and ham; cheese and onion and tuna mayonnaise.

Muffins

Dawn Foods: Millie's Foods "Thaw and Serve" muffins means only the required amount needs to be defrosted for maximum portion control. The products have individual wrappers.

The Breadroll Co: Bagels: Plain; Poppy; Sesame; Onion and Raisin and Cinnamon.

Muffin - Double Chocolate, Blackcurrant, Cappuccino with White Chocolate.

Make your own bagels with Frozen Dough Form Bagels from Mr Bagel's. A bagel specialist will visit your establishment and demonstrate how to finish the product with a full range of toppings in the traditional way.

Waissels: Crystal Pure Louisiana Hot Sauce and squeeze bottle Hot Dog Mustard.

Nuevo Latino/ Mexican

Discovery Foods has produced what it describes as the first Organic Flour Tortilla, made from natural organic wheat. They can be served hot or cold as the "envelope" or "folder" for a range of fillings.

Also from Discovery is Tijuana Enchilada Sauce; Two Step Texan Fajita Cooking Sauce and Mexican Pepper Sauce.

Authentic Food Company: Tex Mex products including vegetable burritos, chicken enchiladas and cajun chicken.

Waissels: Tortilla Chips in ten flavours, as well as medium and hot salsas in jars.

Caribbean

Each of the Caribbean islands has its own characteristics, which means there is no distinct trend in Caribbean cooking, but a combination of ideas from different regions and countries. As air fares and holiday packages to the Caribbean are more cost-effective, this means holidaymakers are returning to Britain with a real taste for Caribbean food.

Authentic Products

R.H.Amah distributes the Walkerswood brand, offering authentic products using Jamaican ingredients such as coconut milk, scotch bonnet peppers and pimento berries.

Jerk Marinade, its original product, is a blend of herbs, spices, hot peppers and escallions.

Jerk Seasoning, is a hot and spicy seasoning - a combination of escallions, hot peppers and spices.

Escoveitch Sauce for Fish, is a hot combination of vinegar, pimento berries, scotch bonnet peppers, garlic, onions and thyme.

Coconut Rundown Sauce, is a concoction of coconut milk, selected spices, hot peppers and seasonings.

Solomon Gundy, is a spicy fish paste made of smoked herring, hot peppers and seasonings.

Jonkanoo Hot Pepper Sauce is for customers, who really like hot food, as it is made of hot peppers, blended with escallions, onions, thyme and garlic.

Sautéed Ackees, Baked Callaloo, Escoveitch Chicken Salad and Jamaican Jerk Chicken are just some of the recipes featured in a new full colour recipe booklet from Walkerswood.

Dried Jerk Seasoning, a dehydrated version of the regular seasoning which can be sprinkled on seafood, poultry, meat and vegetables. It should be used sparingly as it is highly concentrated.

Scotch Bonnet Pepper Sauce is a hot combination of scotch bonnet peppers, scallions, vinegar, thyme, garlic and spices. It should be used sparingly in soups, stews and rice dishes.

Ackee is a savoury fruit which looks like scrambled eggs. It is the essential ingredient in Jamaica's national dish - ackee with codfish. Tinned by Walkerswood, it is already cooked and can be made into quiches or stir fried with tomatoes and onions.

Callaloo is Jamaica's version of spinach. It is pre-cooked and canned for convenience.

Pritchitt Foods' Millac Coconut Cream can be used in all kinds of cooking from Thai and Indian to Malaysian and Caribbean.

It can be mixed with ready-to-use sauces to enhance flavour, to add an exotic touch to desserts and can be used behind the bar for a super pina colada!

It is bain marie stable, microwaveable and freeze thaw stable.
