Essential news from around the world… Compass points north Compass Group subsidiary Select Service Partner is to cater at the Kista Science Tower, in Stockholm, Sweden. The contract will turn over about £3m a year and run for an initial six-and-a-half years. It starts in November 2002, when the first companies move into the tower. Radisson strikes Swiss deal Radisson SAS is to manage the new 350-bedroom hotel at Switzerland's Zurich airport, scheduled to open in 2005. Facilities will include a brasserie, a seafood restaurant, a bar and over 2000sq m of conference and banqueting space. Nobu opens in Paris Nobu founders Nobuyuki Matsuhisa and Robert De Niro have joined forces with French businessmen Hubert Boukobza and Jean Luc Delarue to open a restaurant in Paris today. Nobu Paris has 150 seats and a separate sushi bar. Marriott sprouts in Brussels Marriott is to be the new operator of the 262-bedroom Swissôtel in Brussels. The hotel, which also includes 57 serviced apartments, was owned by property firm Banimmo Real Estate and sold to City Hotels SA, another property investor, through agent Jones Lang LaSalle. Starbucks takes on Vienna's coffee houses The Starbucks coffee bar chain is to expand into Austria, in a joint venture with Swiss food and restaurants group Bon Appetit. The first Starbucks will open in Vienna in December. Switzerland's first Starbucks opened in March. Meliá expands in Tenerife Spanish group Sol Meliá has opened its ninth hotel in Tenerife, the four-star, 300-bedroom Meliá Jardines del Teide.
