Tricon Global Restaurants has announced that its KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell Express restaurants will be built inside the Pentagon, the US military complex in Washington, DC. The deal gives Tricon access to the Pentagon's 20,000 employees.
Radisson deals Radisson is opening a 136-bedroom Radisson SAS hotel in Örebro, Sweden. It has also signed an agreement with property company Movement Poland to manage a hotel in Lubin, Poland, to open in spring 2004.
Reaching the Pole Norwegian-owned Qubus Hotels is to open the four-star, 250-bedroom Cuprum hotel in Legnica, Poland, in February. It is also renovating three three-star hotels in Poland. These are the 160-bedroom Skarbek in Walbrzych, the 150-bedroom Kasztelanski in Glogów and the 60-bedroom Pod Baszta in Zlotoryja.
Stakes for Raffles Luxury hotel company Raffles International is to buy stakes ranging from 10% to 20% in the equity of hotels in an attempt to acquire management contracts in its key target cities of Tokyo, Hong Kong and Paris.
Wingate goes north Hotel operator Wingate Inns International is opening its first hotel outside the USA. The 103-bedroom hotel will open in Calgary, Alberta, later this year and will be run by Superior Lodging Corp. It will be the first of nine hotels that Wingate Inns plans to open across Canada over the next nine years.
