Zap on a rat
Described as hygienic, smell-free and humane, the Rat Zapper comprises an electrocuting trap inside a box, with alkaline batteries providing sufficient power for up to 15 kills or three months' operation (model RZ2000)or 100 kills/one year operation (model RZ98). The supplier, says rodents are not mutilated in the process but instead have the appearance of "having died in their sleep".
An indicator light blinks when a kill has been made, signalling staff to pick up the unit and tip the dead rat into a suitable bag or bucket for disposal. At no stage is physical contact with carcases required. An optional device called the Rat Tale allows the unit to be easily monitored when placed in relatively inaccessible places. A monitoring system allows up to eight units to be checked from one central position.
The RZ2000 costs £69.35 and the RZ98 £94.86. The Rat Tale costs £19.95. (All prices include VAT).
