Member of staff stabbed at Malmaison Manchester
Guests on the fourth floor of the 180-bedroom Malmaison Manchester were evacuated after a member of staff was stabbed.
Police were called to the hotel, located opposite Piccadilly station, soon after 6pm on Wednesday night, following reports of the stabbing.
According to the Manchester Evening News, they found a 29-year-old member of staff with a knife wound to his stomach.
The victim was attacked following a call to reception from a guest requiring assistance. Despite receiving hospital treatment for a superficial wound, the staff member returned to work today.
Police are still hunting for the attacker and are looking at CCTV images as part of their investigation.
A hotel spokseperson said: "Malmaison can confirm a security incident occurred at its Manchester hotel on 20 April involving a member of staff.
"Police attended the hotel and quickly brought the situation under control. As a precautionary measure and to ensure the continued health and safety of our guests, guests were temporarily moved to the reception area."
