BM creates learning and development lead

Dorrianne Casey has been appointed to a newly created role focused on learning and development at contract caterer BM.

She joined the company in 2019 in an operational support capacity and will now be leading Equality, Diversity and Inclusion steering groups, with a particular focus on disability.

Casey will also oversee BM's training calendar and deliver workshops to drive diversity education across the WSH parent group.

She spent three years of her career at workplace caterer Gather & Gather as a multi-site general manager, where she was responsible for four coffee shops, three cafes and a restaurant under the business' Vodafone contract.

Prior to that, she managed the café and events offering at the Quince Tree in Stonor, Oxfordshire.

She will be reporting into Murray Soper, BM's head of people and talent.

Casey said: "I'm really passionate about giving people opportunities to grow and develop, as well as supporting talent, potential and growth. Times have changed and it is companies that are having to sell themselves to potential talent – and rightly so!

"This enhanced focus on learning and development put us in a healthier position against our competitors, making us more desirable to potential clients and creating a culture where our teams know they are supported."

Soper added: "Dorri's genuine passion for people as well as for the importance of engagement through effective leadership, combined with her high level of emotional intelligence are making a real and tangible difference to the way L&D is planned and delivered, greatly enhancing the BM employee experience."
