Burger & Lobster ‘actively looking' for sites outside of London

Burger & Lobster has revealed it is "actively looking" for new locations outside of London due to ongoing customer demand from "key cities" around the UK and Europe.

It comes after the restaurant group reported its financial results for the year ended 1 January 2023, which saw turnover rise 47% to £36.5m.

Profit before tax grew eight-fold to £681,104 over the same period in 2022, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the UK restaurants was double the 2021 figures at £2.4m.

Staff numbers across the group rose to 431 from 327 in 2022.

Burger & Lobster currently operates nine restaurants in London, all of which have undergone refurbishments. The group also has 11 sites across the globe in locations including Hong Kong, Kuwait, Singapore and New York.

Dino Sura, managing director of Burger & Lobster, said: "The 2022 results were a great indication of the strength of the brand following the turbulent Covid years. We began investing in consolidating our supply chain into the business, started our restaurant wide refurbishment programme and kept the focus on our people to now report an average length of service of two-and-a-half years".

Burger & Lobster founder Misha Zelman said: "The future for the business is extremely exciting and we are looking forward to building on what we have achieved so far."
