Caterer Benugo has won a ten-year contract worth in excess of £60m with the Zoological Society of London Zoo (ZSL), to provide public catering services at the attraction.

Benugo, part of WSH, won a tender process to replace CH&Co's events arm Ampersand who had provided catering services at the zoo since 2012.

Kathryn England, ZSL London Zoo's chief operating officer said: "Underpinned by our shared vision and commitment to local sourcing and sustainability, Benugo is the perfect catering partner for ZSL London Zoo.

"Together with Benugo we will focus on delivering delicious, good quality food at competitive prices at ZSL London Zoo."

Benugo will serve food to the zoo's 1.1m annual visitors offering a range of freshly-made, locally sourced dishes including Camden Hells beer battered haddock, British free-range lemon and thyme roasted chicken and chips and a butternut squash stuffed with garlic mushroom.

Ben Warner, co-founder of Benugo, said: "I love bringing my family to connect with nature and be inspired by the incredible wildlife we share our planet with. I am excited to partner with such an iconic London landmark and bring our ethos to the zoo visitors."

Since its inception in 1998 Benugo now has over 100 sites across the UK in high streets and concessions as well as iconic venues including the V&A, Edinburgh Castle and the Natural History Museum.
