Mary Rance named chief executive of UKinbound
Mary Rance, a former CBI regional director, is to replace Stephen Dowd as chief executive of tourism trade body UKinbound.
The trade body hit the headlines recently after tourism minister Margret Hodge stormed out of a drinks reception when Ukinbound chairman Philip Green accused the Government in a speech of driving away foreign tourists.
Rance, who takes on her post on 15 September, was the CBI's London director and is currently chief executive of social inclusion charity Toc H.
Green said: "The recruitment panel met some very talented candidates and we believe Mary has the qualities we are looking for at this time.
"She brings with her excellent all round experience in lobbying, networking and membership management."
Rance said: "I am delighted to be joining UKinbound at this significant and challenging time for inbound tourism."
