Firmdale relaunches Dorset Square hotel
Firmdale Hotels has today reopened the Dorset Square hotel, the property which originally launched Tim and Kit Kemp's award-winning company in 1985.
The 37-bedroom hotel was sold by the company in 2002 and then reacquired last year after it fell into administration.
Design director Kit Kemp, who with her husband Tim was awarded a MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List on Saturday, has replaced the hotel's original country house style with bold colours and textures, bespoke furniture and original art collected from around the globe.
Located within a Regency house in Marylebone, the property includes a drawing room and the Potting Shed all-day bar and restaurant.
Dorset Square's general manger is Eva Mount, who was previously general manager at sister hotel Charlotte Street.
Firmdale now has seven hotels in London and one - Crosby Street - in New York. It is also currently developing a 90-bedroom hotel with 24 apartments and 12 retail stores at Ham Yard in Soho, which is due to open in 2013.
