Hotel du Vin St Andrews to open on 1 April

Hotel du Vin will open in St Andrews, Fife, on 1 April following the conversion of the former St Andrews Golf Hotel.

The group bought the 22-bedroom hotel in 2008, but the recession delayed the work that was required to add it to the boutique brand.

However, following the acquisition of Hotel du Vin, along with sister brand Malmaison, by USA-based private equity firm KSL Capital Partners, work finally began on transforming the property.

Hotel du Vin St Andrews will be the 15th property to open since the launch of the original Hotel du Vin in Winchester by Robin Hutson and Gerard Basset 20 years ago.

Located within St Andrews' Old Town close to The Royal and Ancient Gold Club's first tee and the West Sands beach, the hotel will feature the brand's signature bistro serving a French-inspired menu.

It will also incorporate the neighbouring Ma Bells public house, which is set to under-go a refurbishment in the coming months.
