Macdonald Hotels wins two contracts for new management division
Macdonald Hotels & Resorts has secured two contracts under its new division which is offering a sales, marketing and management service to independent hotels.
The four-star, 73-bedroom Pendley Manor and the three-star, 27-bedroom Rose & Crown - both in Tring, Hertfordshire - have joined the newly-formed Macdonald Hotels Management Services (MHMS).
A two-year contract has been signed for MHMS to manage the sales and marketing initiatives for both family-owned properties.
The two hotels will remain independent, but will be added to Macdonald Hotel's existing portfolio of associate hotels which currently consists of management contracts with Gisborough Hall Hotel, the Roxburghe Hotel and Savill Court Hotel & Spa.
Chris Gillett, managing director of MHMS, said the two Tring hotels will give the company a presence in a new geographical area and is currently talking to other hotels with a view to joining the division.
"Our target area for expansion is the east and south-east of England and along the M4 corridor," he said. "We are interested in a mix of hotel sizes, which are of a very good three-star or four-star standard."
David Roberts, general manager of Pendley Manor and the Rose & Crown said: "We hope the partnership will drive more business into the hotels, particularly within the conference and meetings side of the properties."
MacDonald Hotels & Resorts currently operates more than 40 hotels across the UK and ten resorts throughout the UK and Spain.
