Morgans Hotel Group to launch Hudson brand in London
The Morgans Hotel Group - operator of the Sanderson and St Martins Lane properties in London - is to launch its Hudson hotel brand in the capital.
Due to open in early 2015, the 200-bedroom Hudson London will mark the beginning of an international expansion of the lifestyle brand into major cities around the world. The original and currently only Hudson - a 834-bedroom property which opened in New York in 2000 - is currently undergoing a £20m renovation and the introduction of a European-style restaurant concept with a bohemian influence.
US-based Morgans intends for Hudson to create a distinctive hotel for London, combining cutting-edge style with impeccable service at accessible prices.
"We are looking forward to bringing the spirit of our celebrated New York property to a global stage, and elevating Hudson into a truly international brand," said Morgans' chief executive Michael Gross.
The location of Hudson London is yet to be revealed.
Morgans is currently developing its first Mondrian-branded hotel within Sea Containers House on London's South Bank. The 360-bedroom hotel is due to open in early 2014.
