Rezidor to float within the next 12 months

23 June 2006

Rezidor SAS Hospitality will float on the Stockholm Stock Exchange within the next 12 months, subject to conditions.

The move will mark the exit of its owner, the Scandinavian SAS Group, from the hotel business it set up in 1950, allowing it to focus on its airline business.

Rezidor has a long association with Carlson, which intends to remain a significant shareholder in the company after the initial public offer.

In 1994, Rezidor took on the master franchise to develop Carlson's four-star Radisson hotel brand through Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The relationship between the two companies was strengthened in 2002 when Rezidor added Carlson's five-star Regent and mid-market Country Inn and Park Inn brands.

Rezidor, which currently has 279 hotels open or under development in 50 countries, is also developing Cerruti and Missoni branded hotels with the fashion houses of the same name.

Only the fittest brands will survive, says Rezidor hotels boss >>
