World's fastest king size bed maker awarded Guinness World Record

Hotel manager Andrea Warner of the Wellingborough Rushden Travelodge has set a new world record for making a king size bed in just 74 seconds.

Her entry in the Guinness World Records was confirmed after she beat the target she was set of three minutes. It is the first time the record has been officially recorded.

The challenge was completed at Travelodge's Vauxhall hotel in London, in front of Kit Malthouse, the deputy mayor of London for business and enterprise and an audience of 300. It involved placing a king size flat sheet on the mattress, inserting four pillows into cases, inserting a king size duvet into a cover, closing with buttons, making the bed and adding a bed runner.

Warner, who has made more than 10,000 beds since joining Travelodge, said: "Not in my wildest dreams did I think that would be a record breaker."

A spokesperson for Guinness World Records said: "Seventy four seconds to make a king-sized bed is an incredible achievement and it therefore gives us great pleasure to welcome Andrea into the record breaking family."
