Hoxton Shoreditch and Holborn hotels sold in £215m deal

The Hoxton Shoreditch and the Hoxton Holborn hotels in London have been sold to a European investment firm in a £215m deal.

Archer Hotel Capital, which owns 11 additional properties across Europe, has acquired the hotels from developer Norlake Hospitality.

Both the 210-room Shoreditch hotel and 220-room Holborn site will continue to be managed by Ennismore.

"We are delighted to return to London with two high-quality assets with strong brand recognition in the market and in highly sought-after locations," said Dominic Seyrling, managing director of Archer Hotel Capital.

"As Europe's leading hotel market, London remains a key city for Archer's long-term strategic vision. We are equally pleased to enter a new operating relationship with Ennismore, which has set the benchmark in the lifestyle space over the last decade."

The Hoxton Shoreditch is the design-led brand's original hotel and was opened in 2006 by Sinclair Beecham, one of the original founders of the Pret A Manger sandwich chain.

It was sold to Ennismore in 2012 and the group launched the Holborn hotel in 2014.

Archer Hotel Capital's other European hotels include the 483-room Hotel Arts Barcelona, the 470-room Westin Palace in Madrid, and the 192-room Conrad Dublin.

Archer Hotel Capital was advised by Hogan Lovells, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, TFT Consultants, Lockton and Howden M&A.
