IHG's first UK Vignette Collection hotel to open next month

IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to launch the UK's first Vignette Collection property, the Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool, next month.

The initial opening had been slated for late 2023, two years after the launch of the brand under IHG's Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio.

The Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool, Vignette Collection is a 133-room property that stands in the site of a former 18th-century rope-making warehouse, which will be alluded to by the hotel's industrial interiors.

It will also feature a 200-cover restaurant and bar, as well as artwork from local creatives.

Tom Rowntree, vice president of luxury and lifestyle brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: "It is a milestone moment to see the first hotel within Vignette Collection open its doors in the UK."

David Daly, general manager at the Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool, added: "The concept of the Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool, Vignette Collection was born from a belief that communities are stronger together – twisted, weaved, and intertwined like the rope that once lined the streets on which the hotel stands. Liverpool is a melting pot of opportunity, and we look forward to offering authentic Liverpudlian hospitality to all those who visit us."

The Vignette Collection officially launched with the opening of Hotel X Brisbane Fortitude Valley, Vignette Collection in December 2021.

There are currently six Vignette properties around the world and a further 19 are in the pipeline. IHG revealed it has ambitions to open 100 new Vignette Collection hotels in the next decade.
