In Pictures: Langdale Chase hotel reopens
Langdale Chase hotel in Lake Windermere has reopened following a 12-month refurbishment.
The design of the 30-room property pays homage to the building's history, which dates back to 1890. There are seven suites, two rooms with wardrobe bathroom doors and five dog -friendly rooms.
Guests can also stay in the historic Boathouse, which has a wraparound balcony and rooftop terrace with views of the lake.
The lakeside garden extends to 4.5 acres and was first laid out by Thomas Hayton Mawson. Head gardener Claire Farrington has now partnered with garden designer and lecturer Annie Guilfoyle to give guests guided garden tours.
The refurbishment has also led to the addition of a new reading room, which features four original fireplaces.
In terms of F&B, the hotel has a two-AA-rosette offer including a seasonal restaurant and a main dining room with a menu that has been inspired by produce from the land and sea. Plans for a kitchen garden are also in the works.
Room rates at Langdale Chase start from £290 per night.
