James Golding leaves the Pig to join Table Talk Foundation

James Golding has left his role at the Pig hotel group to take up a position with the Table Talk Foundation charity.

He has been appointed head of food education and will develop workshops, courses, and resources to help children improve their cooking skills and make informed choices about food.

Golding spent more than 12 years working at the Pig and had been chef director at the boutique hotel group since 2014.

His CV includes time spent at the Savoy, Le Caprice, J Sheekey and Soho House New York and he is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and chairman of its sustainability committee.

Table Talk Foundation is based in Sussex and focuses on improving education around food. It works with the Adopt a School Trust to bring professional chefs into primary schools to educate children on nutrition and offer an insight into the hospitality industry.

Golding said: "I'm truly excited to join Table Talk Foundation and contribute to its mission of fostering food education. Food is not just about nourishment; it's about culture, community, and sustainability.

"I look forward to working with the team to develop programmes that empower individuals to embrace these values through food."

Table Talk Foundation also works to provide physical and mental support services to the hospitality industry in partnership with charities such as the Burnt Chef Project and Hospitality Action.

In 2022, it raised funds to build a training kitchen within Plumpton College in Sussex.

Daniel Wade, co-founder of Table Talk Foundation, said: "We are delighted to have James on board. His deep understanding of culinary arts, coupled with his passion for education, makes him the perfect leader to drive our food education initiatives.

"We are confident that his contributions will be invaluable in our efforts to promote our cause."
