Loungers announces three senior appointments

Loungers has bolstered its senior leadership team with three appointments to support the continued growth of the business.

Justin Carter, the current Lounge brand managing director, who has been with the restaurant group for the past nine years, has been promoted to group managing director. Under his expanded remit, he will oversee all three brands: Lounge, Cosy Club and roadside diner Brightside.

David Matthews, who has held the role of regional operations manager for the past two years, marks another internal promotion to the role of Lounge operations director (North).

Meanwhile, Kate Eastwood, who was most recently operations director for Fullers, has been named Lounge managing director.

Nick Collins, chief executive of Loungers, said: "I am delighted for both Justin and David and would like to wish a very warm welcome to Kate. We have got to know Kate well over the last few months are excited about the impact she will have leading the Lounge business.

"As the business continues to grow, it's critical we have the best organisational structure in place to protect and enhance both our culture and the hospitality we provide."

The group aims to open "at least 600 Lounges" across the UK and previously stated it is on track to open 34 new sites in the current financial year.

Loungers operates 35 Cosy Clubs, 218 Lounges and three Brightsides, the concept which it launched in November 2022.
