Lucknam Park to launch new restaurant and guest cottages

The five-red-AA-star Lucknam Park hotel in Wiltshire is to open a new restaurant and two guest cottages this spring.

The current brasserie will be relaunched as the Walled Garden Restaurant, which will offer a selection of seasonal produce reared on the hotel's surrounding estate and kitchen garden.

Head chef Alex Greene will serve sharing plates such as free-range pork chop accompanied with crab apple verjus, spring greens and roasted turnip during the day and à la carte dishes such as flat iron steak with béarnaise sauce and skinny fries in the evenings.

The Walled Garden Restaurant, due to launch this April, has been designed to complement the offering at the hotel's Restaurant Hywel Jones, which has held a Michelin star since 2006.

Lucknam Park will also add two more cottages to its accommodation offering. The Apple Tree and Pear Tree cottages will feature two bedrooms, log-burning fireplaces and private gardens.

The hotel currently has seven guest cottages, ranging from the one-bedroom Gate House to the four-bedroom Squire's Cottage.

The Relais & Châteaux property will also introduce an experiential shower and infra-red sauna to its spa this year, while the hotel's equestrian centre has added an Outdoor School that can teach guests with all levels of horse-riding expertise.

Sakis Dinas, general manager of Lucknam Park, said: "This year is set to be one of the most exciting yet for Lucknam Park with the arrival of two more cottages, a new restaurant, as well as further spa and equestrian centre enhancements.

"At Lucknam Park, we constantly strive to evolve and innovate in order to exceed the expectations of our guests and provide them with incredible memories."

The 43-bedroom Lucknam Park is set in 500 acres of listed parkland and gardens and dates back to 1720. It was maintained as a family home until 1987.
