Manchester-based Sud Pasta to close all four restaurants

All four Sud Pasta restaurants in Manchester will close at the end of the year as the team prepares to launch a "new pasta project".

Sud Pasta was founded in 2015 as Sugo Pasta Kitchen by brothers Alex and Michael de Martiis.

The first site opened in Altrincham with a menu serving pastas between £9 and £13.

Sud Pasta has since expanded into Ancoats, Sale and, most recently, Exhibition and Peter Street, in August this year.

The group said it has become "impossible" to maintain its offer "without reducing the size or cutting a shed load of corners".

Posting the news on Instagram, Sud Pasta wrote: "Our final menu serves as a tribute to some of the cult dishes we've all loved over the last 8 years. So while SUD will be resigned to the history books on 31.12.23 what's coming next is back to our roots of being a pasta kitchen for the PASTA KITCHEN for the PEOPLE.

"Whether you're a student or lawyer, 16 or 95, we will be open to EVERYONE, accessible and affordable. Most importantly, everything on the menu will be bangin' and brand new! Same team, same locations."

Sud Pasta had teased its closure with a previous post introducing its "nothing lasts forever menu".

The group said all gift vouchers will remain valid for a a new restaurant that is currently in the works.
