Michael Lyons named general manager of Hotel Indigo Coventry
Michael Lyons has been appointed general manager of Hotel Indigo Coventry ahead of its opening, which has been scheduled for early next year.
Lyons (pictured centre) has 36 years' experience in the industry, having started his career as assistant floor housekeeper at the Belfry Hotel & Resort in Sutton Coldfield.
He was also director of operations for Kew Green hotels and director of Europe hotel operations, UK & Ireland, for IHG.
Lyons has held general manager roles for Holiday Inn, Leicester, Four Pillars hotel, Oxford, and Holiday Inn, Birmingham.
His appointment coincided with Mark Lee (pictured left) joining Hotel Indigo Coventry as food and beverage manager, while Marek Jani (pictured right) was named head chef for Cogs Restaurant and Bar.
Lee was previously at Lovely Pubs and the NEC Groups, while Jani was also head chef at Strawberry Bank hotel in Meriden, group executive chef for Innventive Leisure Group Holdings, and head chef for the Three Swans hotel in Market Harborough.
Lyons said: "It is extremely exciting to be a part of Hotel Indigo Coventry and to work for such a fantastic brand. I want to make Hotel Indigo Coventry the best place to stay, drink, eat and relax in this amazing, vibrant city. I am really looking forward to introducing such an interesting hotel to the industry and opening our doors to showcase all that we have achieved."
The 100-bedroom hotel has undergone a multi-million-pound development and will be operated by Castlebridge Hospitality Group under license from IHG.
