Michel Reybier Hospitality to bring La Muña restaurant brand to the UK

Michel Reybier Hospitality is set to launch its La Muña restaurant brand in the UK within the L'oscar hotel in London's Holborn, which it took over in 2022.

From this spring, the Japanese-Peruvian La Muña concept will be located in a domed chapel inside the Grade II-listed hotel, which once served as the headquarters of the Baptist Church.

La Muña is already present in other hotels under Michel Reybier Hospitality, including La Réserve Zurich and Crans Ambassador in the Alps.

The launch comes after the management company bought the 39-bedroom Holborn boutique hotel, previously owned by Triangle Hotels and Resorts, in March 2022.

At the time, Raouf Finan, chief executive of Michel Reybier Hospitality, told The Caterer the group had its eye on the hotel from afar for several years before taking it on and had plans to expand the property to 50 rooms.

He added the hotel was planning on a major investment into its food and beverage offer to create concepts that will appeal to locals.

Two years on, La Muña will welcome executive chef Arturas Kondratjevas, who was previously head chef of Home House in London's Marylebone.

He has created a menu divided into Crudo, Caliente and Ceviche, with dishes such as beef steak teriyaki and truffle sauce; red tuna ceviche with sesame; and sea bass embellished with black truffle.

Kondratjevas said: "Following the success of La Muña at our other Michel Reybier Hospitality hotels, we are delighted to bring the restaurant to London and introduce it to both locals and hotel guests. Whilst the menu showcases vibrant Japanese and loud Peruvian flavours, provenance and local ingredients remain at La Muña's core."
