Selina NQ1 Manchester
Latin American hotel brand Selina has launched in the UK, opening in Manchester's Northern Quarter. The design is a nod to Selina's South American heritage as well as to the creativity of Manchester, and incorporates works from local artists.
There is a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, Irish pub and basement club, and a programme of music events and workshops. A co-working space will launch in the coming months. Dishes at the restaurant include agave- and jalapeño-glazed chicken wings; black pepper tofu with marinated watermelon and cucumber; lemon and saffron chicken kebab flatbreads; and pan-fried sea bass fillets with whipped avocado.
A total of 132 beds are split between 37 bedrooms, suites and shared rooms for between three and eight guests, including a female-only option.
Founded in 2015, Selina currently operates in 50 locations throughout South America and Europe. The name Selina comes from Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon.
