Puro restaurant ‘forced' to close after six years amid chef shortages
Family-run Puro restaurant in Clevedon, Somerset, has announced it will be closing next week after six years of trading as a result of chef shortages.
Posting the news on Twitter, owners Dom and Alex Lamy said: "It is with the greatest sadness and regret that we have been forced to close Puro from Monday 1 May. Unfortunately we cannot find chefs to work in our kitchen."
The couple, who opened the modern British bistro-style restaurant in June 2017, were only last year describing 2022 its "best year to date".
They added: "We will continue to search for a new team so it's goodbye for now and we hope to be opening again soon."
The restaurant has asked experienced head chefs looking for a new role to get in touch.
Responding to the news on Instagram, the Burnt Chef Project commented: "Hey team! We're so sorry to hear this. Fingers crossed for a brighter future."
The pair behind Puro also own Vintage & Vine bar and Escala tapas in Clevedon, which remain open.
