Toast Ale to open micro-brewery in Milton Keynes

Beer producer Toast Ale has announced it is to open a micro-brewery in a new co-working office and leisure space in Milton Keynes this September.

The new microbrewery at multi-function space, Unity Space, will brew with surplus bread from the on-site bakery, the Baker's Room.

Founded in 2015, Toast uses surplus bakery bread to brew its beers, with profits going to environmental charities whose aim is to improve the food system and help the planet.

A Certified B Corp, Toast was a recipient of the 2021 Queen's Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development.

The craft beer brand will be available for sale at bars in Unity Place in September 2023, with the microbrewery opening later this year.

Robert Wilson, co-founder of Toast, said the organisation was "absolutely thrilled" to open a micro-brewery at Unity Space, adding "Unity Place's ethos on the environment and sustainability made this opportunity a no brainer".

Rhodri Adrian, account director, restaurant associates at Unity Place, added: "Above everything, we want our customers to enjoy the best of the best, and to us, that is Toast Ale. The award-winning beers are the perfect accompaniment to our Urban Food Market traders, and an ideal choice for a sundowner on our roof terrace, Unity Sky Lounge.

"We can't wait for the brewery to bubble into action and are delighted that Toast is part of the Unity Place family."
