Zac Toumazi, former chief executive of Sussex County Cricket Club, has joined the board of caterer Thomas Franks as a non-executive director.

A professionally trained chef, Toumazi worked in finance at Goldman Sachs and has an extensive background in facilities management and as a business advisor.

He was group commercial director at Surrey County Cricket Club for six years until 2010 and chief executive at the Sussex team for four years until 2016.

Thomas Franks said he would play a "pivotal" role in mentoring its sales and leadership teams and drive growth strategies in the UK and internationally.

Frank Bothwell, chief executive and founder of Thomas Franks Ltd, said: "I am thrilled to welcome Zac Toumazi to our family. Having known him personally for over 30 years, I can attest to his complete integrity and kindness at his heart. Zac's wealth of experience will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success of Thomas Franks."

Toumazi added: "I have the utmost respect for Frank, which has been built over many years. The future looks bright for Thomas Franks, and I will do all I can to support, guide, and contribute to the ongoing success of such a special organization."

Thomas Franks won the Health and Nutrition Award at the 2023 Cateys for its dedication to improving school catering and the Best Employer Award in 2022.
