Beacon appoints Paul Connelly as managing director

Purchasing company Beacon has appointed Paul Connelly as its new managing director.

Connelly was previously director of operations for Beacon, and has been with the company for 12 years, looking after the financial side. He was also responsible for purchasing and operational functions, and has played a big role in the growth of Beacon. His work will now focus on the commercial, purchasing and operations side of the business.

The move comes just months after Beacon announced Tennant Hilditch as the new director of sales.

Rob Payne, chief executive of Interchange and Consort Hotels, parent company of Best Western and of which Beacon forms a part, said, "I'm looking forward to leading the company into further commercial growth, and with Paul's knowledge and expertise he is perfectly placed to drive this and shape new opportunities for Beacon and our customers."

Beacon is one of the largest hospitality purchasing companies in the UK. It deals with more than 130 suppliers, ranging from food and drink to housekeeping and refurbishment.
