Brakes have announced the launch of the 2013/14 Student Chef Team Challenge.
The annual, competition sponsored by BD Foods and ABP Food Group offers a great opportunity for all full-time hospitality and catering college students to showcase their culinary skills, while developing "real life" catering skills.
The theme for the 2013/14 Challenge is "back to basics", with Brakes asking teams to present a menu that embraces the modern trend for clean, well portioned and precisely executed cuisine. Dishes should be stylish, beautifully presented and demonstrate great technique as well as being packed full of clearly defined aromas, textures and flavours that complement rather than overcomplicate.
