Four more Makros set for refurbishment

Cash-and-carry wholesaler http://www.makro.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">Makrohas announced the next four locations in its store investment programme, which will see 24 of its UK stores revamped by the end of 2010.

Stores in Poole, Dorset; Nottingham; Fareham, Hampshire; and Teesside will be refurbished over the summer. A further four will be refreshed later in the year.

The refurbishments take account of Makro's increased focus on hotels, restaurants and caterers, with a greater proportion of the store space dedicated to fresh meat, fish and fruit and vegetables along with an enhanced range of non-food items.

Hannes Floto, managing director, said: "It is all about a real focus on the needs of our core customers and forms a major part of our clear shift in strategy away from an ‘all things to all businesses' approach, to one which is tailored to the needs of HoReCa customers."
