Makro rolls out foodservice delivery trial
After a successful pilot phase, cash and carry operator Makro is extending the trial of its foodservice delivery scheme to four of its stores in the Midlands and North of England.
The Manchester, Leeds, Leicester and Washington stores will offer the delivery service, known as Foodservice, which allows catering customers to order from the full Makro range of over 30,000 lines for next-day delivery direct to their premises with the benefit of various flexible payment options.
Don Marshall, head of Makro Foodservice, said: "The roll-out to more stores in September marks a clear step towards the company-wide aim of establishing a 1-2-1 relationship with key customers, and demonstrates Makro's commitment to helping HoReCa and pub and club customers. Our aim is to save them precious time and money especially through these tough trading times by offering a high quality and bespoke delivery service to those customers who will benefit most."
The trials, first introduced in 2009, will be extended to a further nine stores in September with plans to roll out the scheme to all 30 UK stores, on a store by store basis, in early 2011.
