Latest store-cupboard essentials from Major International include a thickened veal jus and a liquid demi glace along with a selection of 12 marinades.

The veal jus mix can be used to stew or braise meats, thicken sauces or be sprinkled on to meats for added flavour. It is supplied in ambient form in two 1kg cases with a shelf life of 12 months.

The demi-glace can be poured directly into sauces, gravies, soups or casseroles and is supplied frozen in six 1kg cases, with a shelf life of 18 months, or seven days once defrosted.

The marinades include Oak-Smoked Barbeque; Bombay; Caribbean Jerk; Fajita; Hot Tomato with Chillis and Peppers; Honey, Lemon and Mustard; and Moroccan.

These are supplied in two 1.25-litre bottles per case, in ambient form with a shelf life of 12 months. They contain no artificial flavourings, preservatives or added MSG and are suitable for coeliacs.
