World's first compostable hot drink cup lid from Vegware

Vegware has launched the world's first compostable hot drink cup lid. The lid is made from corn starch in the form of PLA, produced from lactic acid and treated to be heat resistant.

The material used is compostable and compliant with the ASTMD6400 standard, with the lids designed to fit with Vegware's existing range of starch-lined compostable hot drink cups.

Vegware has take taken a fresh look at materials used in disposables and packaging, creating low-impact versions using either annually renewable or recycled raw materials. Vegware products can be reprocessed along with food.

Vegware also offers natural fibre plates, bowls and take-away boxes, corn starch deliware and cold cups, recycled paper products, bioplastic bags and sheets and hot drink cups lined with corn starch.
