Jongleurs to open eight more sites with Luminar
Comedy club brand Jongleurs is to open a further eight venues across the UK as part of a deal with nightclub operator Luminar.
Jongleurs is already operating in Luminar sites in Leeds, Newcastle, Cardiff and Norwich. The new sites are:

â- Edinburgh
â- Swansea
â- Kingston Upon Thames
â- Milton Keynes
â- Brighton
â- Southampton
Jongleurs founder, Maria Kempinska, said: "This latest announcement is the next step in the most amazing journey for the Jongleurs brand. Comedy, as a genre, has changed so much in the past few years. It's now even more vibrant, funky, and it's engaging with a younger audience alongside the established social groups, in fact I would go one step further and actually say that it has become fashionable. The parallels between fashion, this country's cutting edge music scene and comedy is there for all to see. Go to a show at Jongleurs and it's alive with creativity and interaction, it's about ‘now' - the energy is amazing.
"We know via our conversations with various operators, that comedy is considered a key element of an integrated offering within a modern day leisure business - typified by Luminar's approach." Adding: "After the amazing success enjoyed since the launch of the four new sites this year, this continued roll-out makes perfect sense."
Talking about the future, she said: "We're in conversations with a number of parties about the growth of the brand right now, so one thing is for sure, we won't be standing still in 2011."
