Aquaclear scoops up Saltwater

Bankrupt Nottingham restaurant Saltwater has been bought by Northern restaurant group Aquaclear.

The fine-dining restaurant, which was owned by restaurateur Andy Bentley when it went into administration only six months after opening, is in the Cornerhouse leisure complex and has remained open throughout receivership.

Stuart Young, operations manager for Aquaclear, which owns restaurants and bars in Leeds and Washington, Tyne and Wear, said the deal is expected to be signed next week. He revealed that the property was sold for about £250,000.

Plans for the restaurant include relaunching the bar, extending a roof terrace to include a private dining room, and introducing a business lunch menu. Existing staff will be retained.
