Autograph signs up for Panasonic lunch rush

Autograph, a division of Initial Catering Services, has signed a three-year contract with Japanese electronics giant Panasonic.

The contract, to feed 1,200 staff at Panasonic's TV manufacturing plant in Cardiff, is worth £1m over the three years.

The production line stops for 30 minutes, and Autograph's challenge is to complete service within that time. To cut down on queueing, catering manager Bill Watson has increased efficiency by ensuring that all staff are at the serveries rather than in the kitchen.

Watson said the team is providing 800 hot meals a day, but he expects this to rise.
