BET plans growth after management reshuffle

A shake-up of senior management jobs at BET Catering Services is designed to strengthen the company and allow it to grow into new areas, chief executive Jim Walker claimed last week.

Under the changes, director of personnel Jacqui Ford is being moved to a different division of the BET group and Ian Gordon, previously director of group HR services, is being drafted in to replace her.

Bob Cummins, who was on a six-month contract as purchasing director, is not being replaced and this role is now being merged with that of commercial director Angus Henry. "He will be responsible for bidding on contracts, procurement and we have put nutrition under this role too," said Mr Walker.

"We have made these changes because we are starting a new financial year and are going into growth mode so we have put together the strongest team we can," he said.

Meanwhile, Lynette Eaborn, who became marketing director at the company in November, has left after just two months to work for First Leisure. "This appointment didn't work out but it has been an amicable parting of the ways," Mr Walker explained. He expected to be able to announce Ms Eaborn's successor within the next couple of weeks.

The company is also looking to fill a new press officer post.
