Bhatia's dishes on BA flights from India

British Airways flights from India to London will carry Vineet Bhatia's menus for the first time next month.

Bhatia, chef-patron of London's one-Michelin-starred restaurant Zaika, was in Bombay last month to oversee menu preparation at BA's in-flight kitchens.

First-class passengers flying from Bombay, Calcutta, Delhi, and Chennai will enjoy dishes such as south India-style chicken with stir-fried marsala noodles, crusted lamb biryani with raitha, and tiramisu made from saffron and Indian cheese with caramelized almonds.

Bhatia, whose dishes are already available on transatlantic flights, said demand for Indian meals from BA passengers had grown from 20% to 45% in the last year.
