Bland steps aside at Six Continents

David Bland, managing director of Six Continents Hotels EMEA, has been edged out of the top position in the run-up to the proposed demerger of the pub and restaurant division in April.
Richard Hartman, formerly managing director of Six Continents' Asia-Pacific division, will replace him, while Bland takes the new title of vice-president commercial.
Six Continents is undergoing an organisational review to simplify the business and create a dedicated hotel business.
A spokesman for Six Continents said the changes were to ensure the right people were in the right job in preparation for the demerger.
