Brussels clears flight catering deal
A deal by which in-flight catering company Lufthansa Service take full control of the American company Onex Food Services has been cleared by the European Commission. Brussels said that an inquiry into the effect of the acquisition on the in-flight catering market showed there were "no reasons for concern." A consequence of the deal is that LSG becomes the sole owner of Sky Chefs Europe, which provides in-flight catering services in the UK, Spain and France. Control was previously shared with Onex. The Commission said there was no overlap between the in-flight catering activities of LSG and Onex.
