new bistro reunites gm team

A FORMER Gardner Merchant (GM) team has been reunited after being recruited to run a new 96-seater bistro on the outskirts of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Daniel Hennessy, a former area general manager for GM, was appointed general manager for Thorpe's Bistro in Almondbury which opened earlier this month.

Mr Hennessy has hired the five-strong team who had previously worked with him on a prison college contract in Wakefield.

Thorpe's Bistro, which has been converted from local council offices, represents a £400,000 investment for marble importers Bernice and David Lever.

The restaurant offers a broad menu, with starters priced from £2.75 to £4 and main courses from £7.25 to £11.50.

To encourage late evening business, the bistro is offering an after-9pm special menu of two courses for £6.95.
