UNIVERSITY change

The Department of Management Studies for Tourism and Hotel Industries at Guildford's University of Surrey has shortened its name to the Department of Management Studies.

Dr Graham Parlett, head of department, said the more generic title did not imply a change of direction nor a dilution of previous activities.

With a specific remitfor the service sector, the department has developeda wider range of specialisations grouped under four major management activities - food service, hotel, retail and tourism.
