Foster Refrigerator UK's Gastronorm Supra range of refrigerated cabinets took the top honour in the Caterer & Hotelkeeper/CEDA New Product Awards.

The CEDA silver salver and rose bowl were presented to Foster Refrigerator UK's John Savage at the annual CEDA (Catering Equipment Distributors Association) gala dinner on 28 April at the Bristol Marriott hotel.

The Gastronorm Supra range of cabinets, which won the heavy-duty category, was voted by CEDA members to be the overall winner from the light-, medium- and heavy-duty categories.

CEDA members selected the best merchandise from a shortlist of three products per category, which had been compiled by CEDA judges and industry experts.

The judges praised the attention to detail shown by the manufacturer on its Gastronorm Supra range. They were particularly impressed by the specifications, which included ease of cleaning and essential maintenance.

The winner of the light-duty category was Rubbermaid's high-heat scraper. CEDA members agreed with the judges' comments that the design features in the blade, which resists heat up to 260ºC, can help to clean the tops of jars and rims of bowls.

The medium-duty category winner, Dualit's toaster with black heat elements, was recognised by the judges as an effective means of preventing expensive damage to elements through misuse.

The new versions of the toaster use etched foil, infra-red heating elements laminated to ceramic panels.
