Clarion will be Ireland's tallest hotel

A Clarion hotel in Limerick will open in July. Choice Hotels Ireland has invested €25m (£15.3m) in the 17-storey newly built hotel on Steamboat Quay overlooking the River Shannon. It will be the tallest hotel in Ireland.

The hotel has 110 bedrooms, including 16 suites and a penthouse.

The 100-seat Sinergie restaurant will serve modern European and Asian dishes, and the Kudos bar, which has its own entrance, will serve Malaysian and Thai cuisine.

The hotel will employ 70 people managed by Sean Lally, who has previously worked at hotels in Frankfurt and in London's Heathrow and Croydon.

Choice operates 24 hotels in Ireland under the Clarion, Quality and Comfort names.
