Coach operators call off Dublin boycott

A threatened boycott of Dublin hotels by coach operators due to start this month has been called off.

The operators listed 24 hotels where new parking restrictions prevented them from unloading guests and their luggage.

The threatened boycott was precipitated by an incident, late last year, when a coach was clamped outside the Shelbourne hotel while loading luggage.

Hotel staff used their cars to drive the guests to the airport.

So far, Dublin Corporation has agreed to provide stopping space at 18 of the hotels.
